Noise Protection
In many workplaces, loud noises or sound hazards are treated as risks. Such noises can be generated from various sources like equipment, machinery, work operations, etc. If exposed to prolonged noise, it can impact the hearing and other health and safety issues of the workers.
This course is intended to teach the participants the knowledge of noise protection and to reduce their exposure to noise at their workplaces. This course familiarizes the learners with identifying and mitigating the risks related to noise in the workplace.
OSHA emphasizes that every employer evaluates their workplace, determines whether there are high levels of noise present, and effectively protects workers from such harmful effects of noise. It has been estimated that more than one million workers are exposed to these noise hazards, which in most cases involve the risk of permanent hearing loss. Thus, it is important to develop an understanding of this, control it, decrease the risk, and protect the workers.
The course delivers information on the potential long-term health effects of excessive noise and the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) which aids in reducing any potential risks. This course has the major purpose of preventing hearing loss and reducing or eliminating noise exposures
