Lead Exposure Management Training

Exposure to lead is a major health hazard; hence, employers should ensure that they undertake essential steps to safeguard their people against this dangerous substance. Lead exposure remains a serious health concern and it can lead to damage to the brain and nervous system, high blood pressure, reproductive and developmental disorders and in the worst scenario even death.

This program is intended to protect employees from exposure to lead. This program deals with circumstances that possess the probabilities of lead exposure, and removal of paint by a UO employee, ensuring that the surface is free of lead or built after 1978. This program also covers potential lead sources, other than lead-based paint.

Learning Outcomes of Lead Exposure Management

  • Workers who are prone to exposure to lead are given awareness about the contents covered in the Appendices:
    ▪ Subdivision Z (1910.1025)
    ▪ A and B of OAR 437 Division 2

  • It is the responsibility of the supervisors to give notification to the EHS about the joining of a new employee or the new task assigned to the existing employee, which may demand training and/or medical administration.
  • EHS is committed to delivering training to the new employee
  • Annual refreshment training is important for those workers who have potential risks of lead exposure and may experience skin or eye irritation.

Course Certification :

Successful participation who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Lead Exposure Management.

Minimum Qualification :

Ability to understand English unless the course is being agreed to be delivered in Clients required language.
